Different types of hemangioma are recognized. They include the capillary hemangioma, cavernous hemangioma, mixed cavernous-capillary hemangioma [hemangioma - mixed cavernous-capillary], epithelioid hemangioma [hemangioma - epithelioid], intraosseous hemangioma [hemangioma - intraosseous], intravascular hemangioma [hemangioma - intravascular] and hemangioblastoma. Hemangiomas are particularly common in the eyelid [hemangioma - eyelid], orbit [hemangioma - orbit] , choroid [hemangioma - choroid], retina [hemangioma - retina] and optic nerve [hemangioma - optic nerve]. Hemangiomas of the intestine may be associated with the Klippel-Trénaunay-Weber syndrome ; Peutz-Jeghers syndrome and blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome.
